It was this thinking that gave birth to the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon Virtual Race.”

In light of this, the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon team have developed an amazing mobile application to bring this iconic marathon to your very own city, town and corner of the world, through an immersive and interactive Virtual Race experience.
Experience the Virtual Marathon wherever you are
The Virtual Marathon will start at 06h30 (your local time) on the 18th of October 2020. The route you choose to run will transform into a virtual Cape Town Marathon route, with the virtual marathon app tracking you as if you’re running the route itself. Enjoy the beautiful views as if you are right there in the City of Cape Town.
All the traditional distances available at the Cape Town Marathon
You’ll have the opportunity to run a Virtual 5km PEACE Run on the 17th of October 2020 at 08:30. There is also a 10km PEACE Run on the 18th of October 2020 at 07:20. The Marathons 42,2km will take place on the 18th as well, but the start will be at 06:30. All start times will be YOUR local time.
The run must go on
It’s exciting to know that there is one thing that’s a sure thing. On the 18th of October, the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon 2020 will take place no matter where you are in the world and no matter what your terrain is. You can run the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon on a treadmill, on the road or a trail. All you need to do is enter the event, download the app and then prepare to experience this iconic event on the 18th of October.
