The 97th Comrades Marathon is fast approaching, and the excitement is palpable. In just 48 hours since entries opened on Tuesday, over 10,000 runners have already secured their spots. This means that nearly half of the 23,000-runner limit has been reached, leaving fewer and fewer opportunities to be a part of this iconic race.
Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) Race & Operations Manager, Ann Ashworth, has urged aspiring #Comrades2024 athletes to not miss out on their chance to experience the ultimate human race, with over 10,000 entries already in during the first 24 hours.

Please note that entries close on 11 December 2023 or as soon as the entry cap of 23,000 entries has been reached. Those wanting to enter are encouraged to get their entries in early to avoid disappointment.
Entry Fee Reminder
Entry fees remain the same as in 2023:

There is no entry fee for runners who have successfully completed 25 or more Comrades Marathons.
Where to Enter
You can enter online via the Comrades Marathon website – www.comrades.com or app. You can also pay your entry fee in two instalments, with 50% due upon entry and the remaining 50% due by February 29th, 2024 or in full upon entering.
Get ready
The 97th Comrades Marathon will be an Up Run on Sunday, June 9th, 2024. The race will start at the Durban City Hall at 5:30 am and finish 12 hours later at the Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse. The distance is approximately 87km.
