The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon has successfully cleared Stage 1 – Major Status is within reach! To join the ranks of London, Boston, Berlin, Chicago, New York, Tokyo, and Sydney, they need 24,000 marathon entries in 2025. But it’s about more than just numbers.

Big News: A New Date for the 2026 Sanlam Cape Town Marathon!
Get ready for a landmark change! The 2026 Sanlam Cape Town Marathon will now be held on May 24, 2026.
This move to May is all about creating the best possible race-day experience for you. Think cooler autumn temperatures, less wind, and a later start time to make race-day logistics smoother. All of this adds up to the potential for faster times and an even more unforgettable event.
The organising committee is constantly working to improve and elevate the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon, and we can’t wait for you to be part of this exciting new chapter. Save the date – May 24, 2026!
