We are so proud of our coach, Nick Bester, who recently completed his 4th marathon, the Cape Town Marathon in 4 weeks. An almost super-human feat!
4 Marathons in 4 weeks
- Berlin marathon ~ 2:20:08
- London marathon ~ 2:36:25
- Chicago marathon ~ 2:41:30
- Cape Town marathon ~ 2:39:41
Nick has covered a total of 168.8 racing kilometres (not training kilometres) in a total time of 10:17:37 with an average pace of 3:39 per km. He is a true inspiration and we are proud to call him our team coach!
Why Cape Town Marathon?
Besides the fact that it’s a great excuse to see his family back in South Africa, Nick just loves the vibe or South African ‘gees’ as it’s commonly referred to in SA. This year’s Cape Town Marathon was the first of a 3 year candidacy period in leading up to the race becoming an Abbott World Marathon Major.
Cape Town is also one of the most beautiful cities in the world, a major tourist destination and on race day you get to experience a big part of the mother city, passing many major landmarks as well as soaking up the sun along the world-famous Cape Town promenade along Sea Point.
