The Victoria Falls Marathon makes a justifiable claim to being one of the most scenic and extraordinary running events in Africa. The route takes in the Victoria Falls Bridge, the Upper Zambezi River and the Victoria Falls National Park.
A World Heritage Site and commonly accepted as one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World, Victoria Falls produces the world's largest sheet of falling water, and is roughly twice the height of North America's Niagara Falls.
The run offers full and half marathons and a 7.5km fun run. The route is relatively flat and fast and is well marshalled, with regular cooling down sections and water stations.
You can find out much more about the Victoria Falls Marathon by clicking below. But before you do, we want you to consider making the most of your visit to Zimbabwe and enjoy the many other attractions we can make available to you.
Pre- or post-marathon, the options are considerable. And through our parent company Tailormade Africa, we can offer you exceptional, individually designed itineraries. Here are just a few examples.
Victoria Falls is known as the adventure capital of Africa, and has a wealth of activities available, including white water rafting, canoeing, boat cruising, game viewing or even a bungee jumping!
And, of course, Zimbabwe is one of the finest safari destinations in all Africa. Wildlife numbers and the concentration of animals can be truly staggering between the dry season months of May – November. The very competitive costs of a safari in Zimbabwe compared to other Africa destinations is an added attraction.
If that is all too active after the marathon then a relatively short flight to Cape Town allows you to finish your trip by relaxing in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
AFRICA MARATHONS IS AN OFFICIAL TRAVEL PARTNER OF THE VICTORIA FALLS MARATHON.
