Taking place around one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, there are not many better settings for a running event anywhere! The Victoria Falls Marathon route is relatively flat and fast and is well marshalled with regular cooling down sections and water stations.
The marathon race route crosses over the Victoria Falls Bridge, briefly into Zambia offering runners some of the most spectacular scenery in Africa, before continuing through the Zambezi National Park with some superb views of the river, and ending back in town. The Full Marathon is a ‘double loop’ of this route giving you plenty of time to also catch a glimpse of the local wildlife.
If you are not quite ready for the full 42.2km full marathon there is a 21.2km half marathon and a 7.5km fun run.
Besides the breathtaking landscapes you will encounter on the route there is plenty more to do and see in the area. Victoria Falls is known as the adventure capital of Africa, and has a wealth of activities available. Pre or post marathon add on time white water rafting, canoeing, boat cruising, game viewing or even bungee jumping!
Safaris in Zimbabwe or neighbouring Zambia and Botswana are also possible and easily organised by us for you. If that is all too active after the marathon then a relatively short flight to Cape Town is also possible and finish your trip by relaxing in one of the most beautiful cities in the world!
